Thank you Lisa

Lisa did such a great job singing at Grace's service.

Chris Rice - Untitled Hymn (Come To Jesus) Lyrics

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

RCJAM

Welcome to RCJAM & Friends.

"RC JAM" is an acronym for my children's names. Rachel, Chloe, Jonathan, Andrew, & Matthew. Their birth order, JARMC, does not have the same ring to it.

However, if you separate the girls from boys and then put the girls first, it IS their birth order. It is a useful anagram in that sense, but it is kind of confusing.

When we had JAR, Evelyn wanted to name the next one Stephen, then Ozzy (actually we had trouble picking an O), then F-something, then a boy named Clay.. JARS OF Clay. I did not want to get stuck on JARSO, (or have a girl with the unfortunate name of "Clay") so we just picked names that we liked and RCJAM emerged.

It is also our band name.

My mother, wife and one friend in Tallahassee have been encouraging me to start a blog. Since they will be the only readers, this blog is dedicated to them.

Here are some of my thoughts and prayers form when we were waiting for Grace.

I sent this email to family and friends a month or two before she was born.

The leper came to Jesus begging on his knees. As he approached the Savior, he fell on his face in worship. Through his tears and desperation he cried out,
"LORD!
IF YOU ARE WILLING
... you can make me clean!"
Jesus stopped. He had compassion on this filthy and hopeless leper. Through moist eyes he looked into the man's barely recognizable face, and then he did the unthinkable.
He touched him.
"I AM willing," said Jesus. "Be clean!"
Matthew 8:2, Mark 1:40, Luke 5:12
LORD! IF YOU ARE WILLING... you can heal my baby!

Jesus in in the Garden. He is in anguish. He knows how bad it is going to hurt. He knows how hard it is going to be. He can almost feel the pain of the nails being driven through his flesh. But much worse than the physical pain is the agony.. the thought of being separated, if only for a short time, from the Father. He knows what the future holds. Luke 22:44
"Father, if there is any other way!... let this cup pass from me" Matthew 26:39, Mark 14:36
There is no other way.
"yet not what I will, but your will be done."
Father you know how bad its going to hurt,
if there is any other way....
yet not what I will, but your will be done

His child was very sick. David fasted and lay on the ground all night. He cried out to God for the child's life for seven days. The child died. 2 Samuel 12:16
I will continue to pray and fast and cry out to God until the time of prayer and fasting is over.
